Let's face it, people fear making cold calls. They're afraid of how people will react, and they fear rejection. They're afraid that they'll embarrass themselves. Those are normal concerns.

So, if you're afraid to make cold calls, you're just like everyone else.

I didn't want to make cold calls, but I had to do it because I didn't have any sales leads. Here are some things that people said to me when I called them...

I’m sorry, he passed-away two years ago.

None of those responses really sound that bad when you read them here. But you had to be there. For someone who's new at cold calling, for someone who is nervous, for someone who is new on the job, and doesn't like rejection, it was pretty unpleasant.

Why do people make still make cold calls? They make cold calls as a last-resort, because they don't have any other options. Typically, they make some calls, get discouraged, and quit.

Of course it doesn't have to be that way. If they had a little training, and they kept at it, they'd find...

- They'd sell more

- They'd discover who their real competitors are

- They'd hear what their competitors are pitching to prospects

- They'd learn what their prospects think about their competition

- They'd quickly learn what is/isn't working in their pitch, and fix it

- They'd get many positive responses on cold calls.

- If they're a start-up they'd quickly learn everything about their target market.

I made cold calls because it was the only way for me to drive new sales. I grew sales at two companies by over $700,000.00 each, with no leads, no industry experience, and no cold calling experience. So even someone who is starting with absolutely nothing, can be successful.

Cold calling provides all these great benefits, but I know you still don't want to do it. I'm posting this is for the people who NEED to do it.
